Bicarbonate in the kitchen

Bicarbonate is added to cooking water to tenderise vegetables. In your butcher's shop and in Asian cooking, bicarbonate is used to soften meat.

Wash your vegetables in cold water with bicarbonate  to remove pesticide residues.

Bicarbonate for your teeth

Bicorbanate is also suitable for cleaning your toothbrush and dentures. Soak overnight in a glass of water with bicarbonate.

Apply the bicarbonate for whiter teeth,  brushing your teeth with it.

Bicarbonate indispensable in every household

Bicarbonate or bicarbonate of baking powder is very effective for cleaning and scrubbing. It is versatile in household use:

• To make glass objects shine.

• As degreasing agent

• Cleaning of cutting boards

• Clean bathtubs and sinks with a thick paste of bicarbonate.

• Cleaning of hair combs: soak the combs in water with bicarbonate and then rinse thoroughly

• To remove odours from shoes: pour a little bicarbonate in the shoes, leave to stand overnight, tap the bicarbonate out and clean with a hoover.

Do not use too much bicarbonate. If you taste a little sour, you have used too much. You can also add a little sour to your recipe (e.g. apple vinegar, lemon, yoghurt).
